La teoría fundamentada como herramienta de análisis

Abstract

El artículo comenta brevemente lo que es la teoría fundamentada, sus origines y características para dar paso a la presentación de dos investigaciones una sobre contexto de interacción: el embarazo en la adolescencia y otra sobre una experiencia subjetiva: la de ser paciente crónico; estos son asuntos esenciales para proporcionar unos cuidados culturalmente congruentes y competentes. Los estudios espero que ilustren la contribución que esta estrategia de análisis hace a la cultura de los cuidados. Los estudios de Teoría Fundamentada permiten contextualizar el cuidado, desvelar interacciones, las construcciones que se hacen sobre una actividad y sus componentes culturales.

The paper comments briefly the nature of grounded theory, its origins and characteristics, and later gives way to the presentation of two research studies. One is about a context of interaction (adolescent pregnancy) and the other about a subjective experience (being a chronic patient). Context and experience are key issues for a cultural competent and congruent nursing care. Grounded Theory studies enable us to contextualize nursing care, and reveal the different interactions and the constructions that caregivers have about a given activity and its cultural elements.
