Movimientos inmigratorios temporales recientes en la provincia de Alicante

Abstract

El artículo trata sobre este tipo de desplazamientos, que mueven a miles de trabajadores cada año en aquellos sectores en los que la mano de obra autóctona es insuficiente, especialmente en la agricultura, turismo y construcción (actividades sobre las que se centra el estudio); pese a su volumen, es total la carencia de datos oficiales sobre el tema, por lo que ha sido imprescindible recurrir a fuentes no estadísticas (orales, principalmente) para conocer su magnitud y los problemas que padecen los migrantes (alojamiento, salarios, contratos, escolarización...).

The article deals with this type of movements that displace thousands of workers each year in those sectors where the local workforce is insufficient, especially in agriculture, turism and building (activities on which this research is based). Depite its ammout, it is great the lack of official information on the topic, therefore, we have been obliged to turn to non-statistical sources (mainly oral) to get to know its importance, and the problems the inmigrants have to endure (lodgings, wages, contracts, chooling).
