Abstract: Reason for the lack of evaluation methodology in NLP, and above all in MT, are offered. Important parameters to evaluation are discussed: task-dependent or non-task dependent applications, the object on MT is defined glass box and black box evaluation. Also cost-effective evaluation and linguistic evaluation through the use of test suites and text corpora are tackled.
