Tecnología gráfica y temporalidad

Abstract

La tecnología gráfica, o más concretamente el conjunto de los conocimientos propios de la representación arquitectónica, ha experimentado recientemente la inclusión de una temporalidad inédita en los parámetros que conforman el ámbito de su desarrollo. Las nuevas herramientas digitales han hecho surgir unos materiales y métodos innovadores, en primer lugar, por su concepción temporal. Las definiciones tradicionales de tiempo (aristotélica, agustiniana,...) significan, en este nuevo contexto, de manera diferente (o con significados modificados) y, por lo tanto, abren fértiles caminos de interpretación e investigación. La presente comunicación pretende poner de relieve este hecho: es necesario conocer, es decir, comprender la estrategia desarrollada por la temporalidad implicada en las nuevas tecnologías y compararla con la distinta fenomenología del tiempo que surge durante un entorno gráfico tradicional para, de esta manera, elaborar un posicionamiento crítico y maduro que analice la repercusión de la creciente primacía de aquellas. Con el trasfondo, a modo de hilo conductor, del análisis del Rolex Learning Center, de la prestigiosa oficina SANAA, se ejemplifica la importancia que la nueva y reciente temporalidad (implícita en la representación virtual de un entorno arquitectónico) supone para una profunda y consecuente crítica.

Graphics technology, or more concretly the set of the own knowledges of the architectural representation, has experienced recently the incorporation of a new temporality in the parameters that shape the area of its development. The new digital tools have made arise a few materials and unpublished methods, first, in its temporary conception. The traditional definitions of time (aristotélica, agustiniana...) they mean, in this new context, in a different way (or with modified signs) and, therefore, they open fertile ways of interpretation and investigation. The present communication tries to emphasize this fact: it is necessary to know, that is to say, to understand the strategy developed by the temporality that the new technologies imply and to compare it with the phenomenology of the time that arises with the graphical traditional environment, hereby, to elaborate a critical and mature positioning that analyzes the repercussion of the increasing primacy of those. With the background of the analysis of the Rolex Learning Center, of the prestigious office SANAA, there is exemplified the importance that the new and recent implicit temporality in the virtual representation of an architectural environment supposes for its deep and consistent critique.
