Educación para la salud a inmigrantes marroquíes

Abstract

No sólo las tendencias sociales de futuro en nuestro país son de aumento de la multiculturalidad, sino que ya es un hecho. El objetivo de este trabajo es lograr un acercamiento al conocimiento de las condiciones de vida y las actitudes hacia la salud y enfermedad de emigrantes marroquíes y ver cómo todo ello influye en los resultados de nuestras intervenciones en Educación para la Salud. Como profesionales de la salud nos enfrentamos a un nuevo reto: el interaccionar con personas inmigrantes enculturadas en culturas diferentes a la nuestra. Quizá de momento, contamos con poca experiencia en este campo, por ello es especialmente importante que nos comuniquemos las propias experiencias, como elementos para reflexionar y aprender unos de otros. Comprobaremos que el componente económico se antepone al cuidado de la salud.

The increase of multiculturality in our country is not only a future social trend but a fact. The aim of this work is to attain an approach to the knowledge of Moroccan immigrants’ life conditions and attitudes towards health and illness, and to see how it all influences the results of our Health Education interventions. As health professionals we face a new challenge: interacting with immigrants socialized in other cultures different from ours. Perhaps for the time being we count on little experience on this field- that is why it is particularly important to share our own experiences as a mean to reflect and learn from one another. We also verify that economic aspects are put before health care.
