Abstract: 
This work analyses the productivity of the hiper- and hipo- prefixes included in the
Real Academia Española dictionary and in VOX'S general dictionary throughout
their last five editions (halfs century of lexicographical creation). Appendix I offers
each one of the words formed with these prefixes, followed by the editions in which
each one appears. The organization of this material in appendix II may be used to
find which words have appeared in each new edition and to compare both editions
and dictionarics.
