Abstract: 
L’article revisa els orígens i l’evolució del passat perifràstic del català, amb el verb anar com a auxiliar; aquesta evolució és excepcional perquè, un verb que indica moviment cap a una destinació física, s’ha convertit en marcador de passat i no de futur, com ha ocorregut en altres llengües. Les dades provenen del corpus CIGCA (segles XIII-XV). Es descriuen els contextos afavoridors, el valor inicial i el factor central de la fixació de la perífrasi.
Analysis of the periphrastic past tense in Catalan with the auxiliary verb anar. This evolution is unusual in that a verb of movement has become a mark of past tense and not of future tense, as it would be expected.
