La identificación del dios Reove y otras correcciones en el altar sacrificial de Marecos (Penafiel): una ofrenda a las divinidades del cielo para acabar con la sequía

Abstract: 
El presente trabajo se basa en un estudio sobre el terreno del altar hallado en Marecos (Penafiel, Porto), en el que se ofrecen varios animales sacrificados a divinidades locales de la región lusitano-galaica y a Júpiter. Se llevó a cabo un análisis riguroso del monumento que permitió identificar una deidad que, hasta el momento, no se había podido ver entre las veneradas en el altar: el dios estelar Reove. A partir de esta identificación se pudo descubrir su apelativo, así como el de la última deidad mencionada, además de plantear una nueva interpretación sobre la datación de las ofrendas. Finalmente, se plantea la hipótesis de que la causa que motivó todo el ritual sacrificial fue una petición de lluvia a las deidades estelares para acabar con un período de sequía.
The present work is based on a field study on the altar found in Marecos (Penafiel, Porto), in which several sacrificed animals are offered to local divinities of the Lusitanian-Galician region and Jupiter. A comprehensive analysis of the monument was carried out, which allowed the identification of a deity that, until now, had not been seen among those revered in the altar: the sky god Reove. From this identification it was possible to decipher the appellative of this god as well as make a new interpretation on the dating of the offerings. Finally, it is suggested that the cause that motivated the entire sacrificial ritual was a request to the sky deities to end a period of drought.
