Abstract: 
Esta investigación trata de mostrar en qué medida los cambios sociales acontecidos en España desde 1975 han podido afectar la frecuencia de uso de las unidades fraseológicas (UF) de connotación machista y racista. Los resultados obtenidos del análisis de cuatro millones de páginas del diario ABC apuntan a que las UF de connotación machista han sufrido un descenso drástico en la frecuencia de uso en un periodo relativamente breve de tiempo, pero no así las UF tras las que subyacen estereotipos racistas.
The aim of this paper is to clarify to what extent the social changes occurred in Spain since 1975 could have affected the frequency of use of the phraseological units (PhU) with sexist and racist connotations. The data obtained from the analysis of four million pages from the newspaper ABC shows that the frequency of the PhU with a sexist connotation drastically diminished during a relatively short period of time. However, no such a decrease was observed regarding the PhU underlying racist stereotypes.
