Chile, siglo XXI: cuando la generación de los hijos cuenta la dictadura

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar a tres autores chilenos que han crecido bajo la dictadura de Pinochet y que publicaron en la postdictadura. Estos autores nos parecen representativos de una generación de jóvenes autores que se desarrolla tanto en Chile como en Argentina. No se trata de hacer un recorrido de toda la producción chilena actual que es muy diversificada y rica, sino de centrarse en tres novelas en las que se evoca el periodo dictatorial. De hecho, lo interesante será ver cómo los hijos cuentan la dictadura o más bien dicho cómo la dictadura se cuela en sus relatos del mismo modo que se cuela en el presente de Chile. En efecto, el pasado sigue siendo vivo en el presente del país y sigue estando presente en los diferentes discursos sea voluntaria o involuntariamente. O sea, cómo los autores chilenos actuales transcriben en el discurso ficticio de las novelas las relaciones de tensión que animan el legado del pasado e intentan crear una recomposición por cierto parcial, fragmentaria, caótica, conflictiva, de un pasado traumático nunca superado.

The aim of this article is to introduce three Chilean authors who grew up under Pinochet’s dictatorship and published in the post-dictatorship. These authors seem to us to be representative of a generation of young authors developing both in Chile and Argentina. It is not a question of taking a tour of all the current Chilean production, which is very diversified and rich, but of focusing on three novels in which the dictatorial period is evoked. In fact, the interesting thing will be to see how the children tell the dictatorship or rather how the dictatorship sneaks into their stories in the same way that it sneaks into the present of Chile. In fact, the past continues to be alive in the present of the country and continues to be present in the different discourses, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. In other words, how current Chilean authors transcribe in the fictitious discourse of novels the relations of tension that animate the legacy of the past and try to create a partial, fragmentary, chaotic, conflictive recomposition of a traumatic past that has never been overcome.
