| Representation of the “femme fatale” is an image widely used in the representation of women in advertising. The seductive and persuasive character of this female stereotype fits perfectly in advertising idiosyncrasies, which aims to persuade and seduce the viewer to motivate the predisposition to the piece. However, the way to represent the femme fatale in advertising is different from the traditional definition of myth. This paper aims to record how the femme fatale is depicted in advertising, how it distorts the essence of myth and how new femmes fatales arise as inaccurate copies of the traditional myth. |
