Observar com sentido: uma competencia importante na vida profissional do professor de Matemática

Abstract

Este artigo apresenta um experimento com sete estudantes de Licenciatura em Matemática da Universidade Luterana do Brasil, Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, com o objetivo de desenvolver a competência de “observar com sentido”. Para isso foi desenvolvido um ambiente de investigação composto por um vídeo de uma aula de Matemática, dois textos de suporte às discussões, um fórum de discussão e uma wiki sintetizando o debate realizado no fórum. Os resultados apontam que os estudantes conseguem analisar uma aula e identificar a metodologia utilizada e que com o experimento foi possível ampliar a compreensão do ambiente profissional.

This paper reports an experiment with seven undergraduate students in Mathematics, from Lutheran University of Brazil, Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, with the aim of developing the “professional noticing” competence. Therefore, we set up an teaching design composed of one video-clip of a Math class, two resource texts, a discussion forum and a wiki with several questions aimed to analyze the mathematics teaching situation. The preservice teachers have to compose a collective text with the results of the discussions performed at the forum. The results indicate that the students are able to analyze mathematics teaching in the video-clip and identify the methodology applied in class. Furthermore, the discussions lead to a broadening of the comprehension of the preservice mathematics teachers of mathematics teaching.
