Estudio pragmático de utinam + subjuntivo

Abstract

In the subjunctive values, 'wishes' have a paradigmatic expression: utinam + subj. Nevertheless, because the expression of a wish must be a speech act, we ask how the connection between the particle, the verbal mood and the semantic value of wish is made. The analysis of the use of the second person in these utterances shows that wishes are speech acts between expressive (and exclamations too) and directive speech acts. At the same time, this work underlines the inappropriateness of identifying utinam and 'wish', subjuntive and 'wish', or utinam + subjunctive and 'wish'. Finally, in the study of 'wishes' speech acts, must see the result of state of affairs in the context.
