Abstract: Liquid–liquid–solid equilibria for the ternary systems water+ lithium chloride+ 1-pentanol, water+ lithium chloride+ 2-pentanol, water + lithium chloride + 3-pentanol, water + lithium chloride + 2-methyl-1-butanol and water + lithium chloride + 2-methyl-2-butanol have been measured at 25 ºC. The liquid–liquid equilibrium (LLE) data obtained were regressed using electrolyte NRTL. The model is unable to predict the S shaped solubility curve in the organic branch produced by the possible formation of the solvate alcohol—LiCl.
