Construcciones con tierra en el Antiguo Egipto: una perspectiva arqueológica

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se abordan las diferentes técnicas constructivas en relación con la arquitectura en tierra en el Antiguo Egipto desde una perspectiva arqueológica. También, se pretende abarcar estas técnicas en las distintas formas de arquitectura en el antiguo Egipto; desde los propios templos y sus partes construidas en barro englobando también la construcción con tierra en arquitectura funeraria y civil tales como palacios, murallas, calles, casas etc. Todo esto será desarrollado en relación con los estudios de los distintos yacimientos en los que han sido hallados vestigios de cultura material que hayan dado indicios de técnicas constructivas con tierra. El principal objetivo de este estudio reside en abordar la importancia de este material en la arquitectura de Egipto, desde el periodo arcaico hasta el Egipto grecorromano para poder comprender distintos aspectos de la cultura egipcia antigua a partir de sus restos materiales en los que se utilizaba la tierra como material constructivo.

The present work covers the different construction techniques in relation to earthen architecture in Ancient Egypt from an archaeological perspective. Also, it is intended to cover these techniques in the different forms of architecture in ancient Egypt; from the temples themselves and their parts built in mud also encompassing the construction with earth in funerary and civil architecture such as palaces, walls, streets, houses etc. All this will be developed in relation to the studies of the different sites where traces of material culture have been found that have given indications of earthen construction techniques. The main purpose for this study is to address the importance of this material in the architecture of Egypt, from the archaic period to Greco-Roman Egypt in order to understand different aspects of ancient Egyptian culture from its material remains in which earth was used as a building material.
