Acerca de la tradición ontológica del pensamiento español

Abstract

In this paper it will be defended that the Spanish philosophical thought has moved to the ontological field because of questions related with the Catholic dogma; and not to the epistemological philosophies which are from a nominalist tradition. This obstructed the approval of the Galilean and Newtonian scientific program. Zubiri affirms in Naturaleza, Historia y Dios that man becomes deified by his union with Christ through “the Baptism, and is sealed with the Eucharist” which is produced “in a physical and real way” and not in a symbolic one. The swan song of this ontologization can be dated in 1957 on the 4th Spanish Philosophy Week.
