Audiovisual Split y un proyecto de documentales sobre estrategias arquitectónicas de sistemas abiertos

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar un teaser o prototipo audiovisual. Se trata de un capítulo de una serie de documentales divulgativos que derivan de una investigación más disciplinar. Estos documentales proponen comprender las características y estrategias de los proyectos arquitectónicos que operan con sistemas abiertos; es decir, aquellos que permiten la intervención de ´los otros´ (los habitantes y colaboradores) y la reprogramación de los espacios durante la vida útil de los edificios. El audiovisual presentado es el prototipo de uno de los capítulos. Se presenta en formato estático, reproduciendo algunas imágenes y el relato que se narra durante su exposición. La estrategia proyectual de este capítulo consiste en separar algunas partes constructivas de otras, un procedimiento que llamamos split. El vídeo explora tres casos de arquitecturas construidas, con los que trata de explicar el potencial de split / separar. Cada caso se visualiza, a su vez, en tres ventanas simultáneas: una recoge la vivencia desde el uso de los habitantes, otra es una visión arquitectónica y, en medio, unos dibujos describen la estrategia que se investiga e intentan inducir a ensayarla. En este texto se expone también, brevemente, la investigación sobre procedimientos proyectuales de sistemas abiertos de la que se parte el vídeo, con la intención de contextualizarlo y comprender el marco general. Para mayor claridad, se realiza un diagrama gráfico que aglutina esta investigación, las estrategias y sus casos correspondientes. Al hacer esto, se enuncian cuáles serían las estrategias presentadas en los futuros audiovisuales asociados a este.

The aim of this text is to present a teaser or an audio-visual prototype. This is an episode of some informative and educational documentaries which arise from a disciplinary investigation. These documentaries pitched towards understanding the features and strategies of architectural projects that operate with open systems, that is, those which allow the intervention of others (collaborators or inhabitants) and the reprogramming of spaces during the lifespan of buildings. The prototype pilot chapter is an episode of the planned documentary series. Here, we show it in written format, replicating some images and the transcription of the comments. This section’s design strategy is about separating constructive parts one of each other, a procedure that we call ´split´. Here we explore three constructed buildings, trying to explain with them the ´split´ potential power. Each case appears in three simultaneous screens: first window is about inhabitants’ experience, the other is the architectural vision and, in the middle, some drawings try to explain the researched strategy attempting to induce people to use it. This text also briefly outlines the investigation about open systems design procedures, which is the video´s starting point, allowing us to contextualize it and understand the main framework. In order to clarify, we have developed a diagram integrating this research, its strategies and its cases. Doing this, we also will present the future audio-visual´s strategies we are working with.
