Lugares de ribāṭ y otros relacionados con ellos en el Magreb: Informaciones de al-Warrāq (s. X) y de al-Bakrī (s. XI)

Abstract

El primer objetivo es recoger los textos en que se habla de lugares de ribāṭ, o de términos emparentados con su semántica, en el Kitāb al-Masālik wa-l-Mamālik, obra geográfico-histórica de Abū ‘Ubayd al-Bakrī (420-487/1029·1-1094), en la que copia mucha información de la obra homónima perdida de Muḥammad al-Warrāq (292-363/904·5-973·4). Se ha encontrado mención a 28 lugares de ribāṭ, que son estudiados en cinco aspectos diferentes: Semántica del término ribāṭ, clasificación general de los lugares de ribāṭ del Magreb, ubicación general de los mismos, quiénes acuden a ellos, y los enclaves de ribāṭ y su repercusión sobre la economía local: el mawsim o romería-feria anual. Con esto, es el propio al-Bakrī quien nos informa sobre la semántica del término ribāṭ y su uso en el Magreb del s. XI, aunque buena parte de sus informaciones las copiara de al-Warrāq (quien las escribió en el tercer cuarto del s. X).

The first objective is to collect the texts that mention places to make the precept of the ribāṭ, or terms related to their semantics, in the Kitāb al-Masālik wa-l-Mamālik, a geographical-historical work by Abū ‛Ubayd al-Bakrī (420-487/1029-1-1094), in which he copies much information from the lost work of the same name by Muḥammad al-Warrāq (292-363/904-5-973-4). Mention has been found of 28 places of ribāṭ, which are studied in five different aspects: Semantics of the term ribāṭ, general classification of the ribāṭ places of the Maghreb, general location of them, who attends them, and the ribāṭ enclaves and their impact on the local economy: the mawsim. With this, it is al-Bakrı himself who informs us about the semantics of the term ribāṭ and its use in the Maghreb in the 11th century, although much of his information was copied from al-Warrāq (who wrote it in the third quarter of the 10th century).
