Margarita de Antioquía en la Legenda aurea de Jacobo de la Vorágine: texto latino y tradición catalana

Abstract

Nuestro objetivo en este trabajo es analizar desde una perspectiva comparativa la traducción catalana de la leyenda de Margarita de Antioquía (cap. LXXXIX de la Legenda aurea), tomando como referencia el texto latino de la edición de Maggioni (2007). Partiendo del concepto de “réécriture hagiographique” de M. Goullet, hemos clasificado las transformaciones que presenta el texto catalán en relación con el texto latino y hemos estudiado en qué medida aportan nuevos matices al relato.

Our aim in this article is to analyze the Catalan translation of the legend of Margaret of Antioch (chap. LXXXIX of the Legenda aurea) from a comparative perspective, taking as reference the Latin text of Maggioni’s edition (2007). Basing on M. Goullet's concept of “réécriture hagiographique”, we have classified the transformations that the Catalan text shows in relation to the Latin text and we have studied to what extent they can bring new nuances to the story.
