La presencia de informaciones relacionadas con la religión católica en la prensa española

Abstract

La presente investigación aborda la presencia de contenidos relacionados con la religión católica en los diarios de información general españoles. Mediante una metodología de análisis de contenido se cuantifica y se identifican las áreas temáticas y se compara su presencia en los diarios mencionados. Los resultados confirman la importancia de la fi gura del papa Francisco, así como el desgaste de la relación entre la Iglesia y la sociedad que se manifiesta a través del predominio de textos informativos con un enfoque negativo haciendo hincapié en temas como la corrupción y las finanzas.

This research focuses on the treatment given to the contents related to the catholic religion by the Spanish general information newspapers. The methodology used is the analysis of content. The thematic areas are quantified, analyzed, and the treatment carried out by the aforementioned newspapers is compared. The results confirm the importance of the figure of Pope Francis, as well as the predominance of informative texts with a predominantly negative focus, emphasizing topics such as corruption, the Vatican and finances.
